Prayer Experiences

Lent 2026

During Lent we created a Lent Loose parts play calendar. Outside on our Key Stage One yard we provided some loose play items together with an invitation to play, build and create on the theme of Lent or Ramadan. This changed every week throughout Lent. At playtimes the children were able to choose to come to this area, and spend time playing prayerfully thinking about the theme and discussing what it meant to them.

Our whole school prayer space is a welcoming, reflective environment which changes seasonally throughout the Liturgical Year and is also adapted in response to wider global events and issues, helping children and staff to pray, reflect and respond to the world around them. The space is carefully designed to be inclusive and accessible to all, regardless of faith background, offering opportunities for spontaneous prayer, quiet reflection and moments of stillness throughout the school day. Prayer activities are child-centred, thought provoking and prayerful, encouraging pupils and adults alike to explore feelings, express hopes and concerns, and deepen their sense of compassion, spirituality and community.
